some good news-advice welcome too!-EDITED TO ADD PIC!
I just found out that we can officially get a cat.. I am just so thrilled!!! 
Thanks to REggie, I ahve a place here in CT DH and I want to go to adopt our new pet.. Thanks Reggie!
We aren't sure if we should get a kitten or young cat.. any feedback would be great..
Any other advice you have to share would be great too!! Thanks!
UPDATED! We went yesterday to DAWS and I feel in love withsuch a cutie.. he has such a personality!! he loves people and was following us around. he was even greeting people at the door!
here he is! THe sheleter named him Norton, we're not sure if we're keeping that name though...I am just so happy and thrilled! Image Attachment(s):

I am a fan of giving on older pet a second chance, so my vote is for an older cat.
Congrats on adopting your new furbaby & Kudos to reggie & all the help she does for our pet rescuers!

This totally made my day. Adult cats rule!!! Wait, shelter adult cats rule.
Daws is an awesome rescue. They do fantastic work. So glad you went there.
Congrats on your newest addition.
Some name suggestions- Bailey or Hennessey or even Charlie.
The name picking is the fun part. Good luck with that.

Congrats! He's gorgeous. He looks like a silver fox to me I adopted 2 adult shelter cats too and Reggie helped me to find one of them. She's the best
