2 cups of water, salt and some butter, bring to a boil...lower to simmer and add one cup of rice..simmer for 20 minutes stirring once at 10 minutes..oh yeah i forgot to add you have to keep it covered once it is simmering!

that's it!!!

Re: Rice...

I married a Puerto Rican, I haven't made mashed potatos in years..its rice all the time.

I start with olive oil, while burner is on low. Then add a cup of rice(white, any brand I have a coupon for). Stir and get oil all over the rice. Then 2 cups of water, bring to boil. Boil for 2 minutes, cover, and bring burner back to low. Keep that cover on, no peeking until the water has seperated from rice..when there are no more puddles on rice, take cover off, a quick stir to get the bottom rice on the top, then cover again.

at the boiling pt is where I add either adobo or sazon..i also have a ton of sofrito stored and frozen, if DH wants something other then white rice, I add 2 tbsp of that.

or in the final simmer state, I will add beans.

Re: Rice...

I prefer Uncle Ben's rice, the grains usually are not clumped when you cook them.
