Question about NYSUT classes and taxes?
Did you claim your NYSUT classes for tax deductions? We got our taxes done yesterday and our acct told us I need statements from the schools - I took three classes last year - received something in the mail from one university but not the others. Didn't get anything from NYSUT - also the school that sent me the form (Post) put the amount $135 down - no idea what that means because my class was almost $700!!!
Any info on what you all did? Had to get?

miki- the school should send you a form after you take the class. that is a BIG writeoff for teachers.

The college which it was held through? My three classes were through two schools - college of st. rose and liu southampton...got a form from post (i guess for southampton - but it only said $135!!!! W TF??? I guess I have to call college of st rose!

I'm struggling with this too...one school sent it, another one said they don't send it because it is distance learning, and the other one said it hasn't been mailed yet!

when the H are they planning on sending it????
Who did you contact - the registrar's office?
Can anyone understand why the heck they sent me a form saying $135 when I paid $700???

College of St. Rose said they don't send it b/c of distance learning. I don't know what to do with that. Touro said it hadn't been sent yet. They have this website they use. My accountant didn't have an answer for St. Rose but said he's heard from others that some 1098-T forms aren't out yet. UGH! Adelphi sent theirs.

Between my DH and myself we spent over 7k on classes and it didn't change our federal at all. It only helped up a little for state. Accountant said we make too much for 7K to cause us to get money back.
