Cruising with toddler?

We have the option of going on a cruise the week after Andrews 2nd birthday which means he can be a part of the kids programs but we are charged $600 or we can do it the week before his 2nd birthday and not be charged but then he can't be in the kids programs.

What would you do?

If you went on a cruise did you use the kids program?

Re: Cruising with toddler?

we just got back on sunday from a cruise
Jake is almost 2 1/2 and couldnt participate with the kids program (this ship was 3 and older) with that being said I wouldnt put him in a program either way

there was tons to do without that--- the pools we set up for the kids(not intentionally but they had an area that was only 6 inches or so before you went into the actual pool with splashing fountains) so we had paintbrushes, watering cans, spray cans and boats that all the kids played with-there were a handful of kids on the ship so he always found a playmate--then a floatie for the actual pool when I went in with him

Re: Cruising with toddler?

I'm not a mom (yet) but since we are going to be cruising with our DS when he is about 8 months old, I have been doing a lot of research.

I would probably tell you to save the money and go the week before. I mean, even though he CAN participate in the kid's programs at two, he has to be potty trained, they will not change diapers in the kids programs and he may not be, so I'd save the money personally.

Good luck! We can't wait til our cruise (only 9 more months!)

Thank you so much for your input.

Laura, I was told that kids that are not potty trained can't go into the pools. Do you know if they are strict with that?

Thanks again for the help!!

Also did you get a mini suite or reg room? I am worried that a reg room won't be big enough.Chat Icon Chat Icon
