All Day Sickness
I have to ask the ever famous question about morning sickness. I have had it pretty bad, so bad that last night I was typing this and couldn't finish. I would do a search, but it is just easier to ask again. What are some of your remedies? I can't handle this. I feel like I can't function as a person. My poor son has been so good about it, but I can tell he is getting frustrated with me. I have been sick on and off for the last week. When it comes I can't do anything. I just feel soooo sick. My friend gave me B6? vitamin supplements which I will take with dinner and I am hoping it works. But I was wondering if anything has worked for you. Also how long did it last for you? Did it come at a certain point and leave at a certain point? I am sorry for all the dumb questions, but I am having a hard time with this. I don't remember ever being this sick with my son. Everyone keeps telling me I am having a girl this time around. Please help... any suggestions?

Re: All Day Sickness
Sorry you aren't feeling well. To be honest nothing really worked for me. I just had to stick it out. I didn't eat very much during my 1st trimester. And I am having a boy, so that old wives tale about morning sickness=girl is crap!

Re: All Day Sickness
Hi there...I felt so sick for a few weeks it really impacted my life (thank GOD it got better!) but anyway here is a link to the thread I posted that had some good suggestions:
Link
What I found helped me (albeit just slightly) was:
Eat 1 whole bagel in bed before even getting up in morning (I know this is easier said than done - I literally forced it down).
Gingerale
and Saltines.
Also, the only real food I could eat was soup.
Hope this helps...sorry you feel so sick! I know, its awful

Re: All Day Sickness
I'm sorry you feel this way, I am right there with you though. Late afternoon and nighttime is the worst, morning for me is just the sheer exhaustion and trouble getting food down. I wish I could tell you what actually helps me but I just have to keep switching things. I went from Ginger Ale to Vitamin Water (Gatorade)now back to Ginger Ale. I can't even eat saltines, I gag. Burnt rye toast helps me alot...Good luck and I hope you feel better.

Re: All Day Sickness
I'm sorry you are not feeling well. I was sick at the beginning of my pregnancy in the morning and always at night. The only thing that worked for me was ice cream and milkshakes. Feel better!

Re: All Day Sickness
I had m/s like that when I was pregnant... it felt like a 24 hour hangover. Make sure you eat lots of small meals throughout the day... by the time you get hungry, it's too late and you'll get sick. Lemon water helped a little, so did seltzer. I also used sucking candies - peppermint, ginger and lemon. The lemon ones really helped. Eating carbs helped (survived on grilled cheese sandwiches)... if all else fails, ask your doctor about Zofran - it's a pill that you can take that will help with the nauseau
Edited to add - I always kept saltines on my nighttable - first thing I did when I woke up was eat a cracker or two, lay in bed for 10 minutes and then get up... it helped.. a little

Re: All Day Sickness
my best advice is to make sure your stomach isnt empty... the acid was wrose for me and made me really sick... I found taking my pre-natals at night with some pretzels, or cheerios helped. and small slow sips of juice or water got me thru it. I will be honest tho-- i slept alot when I got home b.c that was the only time I wasnt sick---

Re: All Day Sickness
I've had all day sickness on and off throughout this pregnancy. Now at 6 1/2 mos, I've pretty much just learned to take it in stride, drink some ginger ale, and know it will pass. Feel better!

Re: All Day Sickness
Thank you ladies. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, but I haven't been on much. Yesterday I was sick all day long, it was horrible. Today I felt a lot better, but I know I am probably going to be sick on and off the next few weeks. At least I got a little break.

Re: All Day Sickness
I feel your pain. I suggest finding out your "triggers". Mine are not enough sleep at night and letting my tummy get empty.
I try to eat something every few hours. Even if it's a few pretzels or crackers. I live on carbs. Bagels, cheese & crackers, ramen noodles is really all i eat.
