Your labor experience compared with your mothers
I was hoping to know how your labor with your first born compared to your mothers first born- what you felt, how you dilated, the progression rate....I am kind of bummed right now. I was so excited because the dr said I was going to go into labor this weekend- I was 90% effaced and 2 cm dilated. I called my mother and she told me she was 2 cm dilated with me (her first born) for one whole week before she had me! I was born two days after my due date. Based on what she said, my baby is poised to do the same. Sept 10. Can you ladies please share? Thanks so much!

Re: Your labor experience compared with your mothers
My labor and delivery was nothing like my mothers....hope that makes you feel a bit better.
My mother was in labor a long time with me, and way way overdue. I wouldn't come out, so they had to use forceps.
I, on the other hand, went into labor 10 days early with my daughter and it was quick and easy (with the help of an epidural)

Re: Your labor experience compared with your mothers
My labor experience was nothing like my mother's. I had to be induced early, while my brother was VERY late (over a month!).

Re: Your labor experience compared with your mothers
Back then I think my Mom;s labor and delivery was so easy since they drugged her up BIG time, she didn't even remember pushing me out! My expereinc on the other hand was intense but tolerable, hey, I did it 2 more times after the first and we're already thinking about doing it again in the next 2 years and I have a 2 week old!

Not the same either I had a c-section and my mother never had one with either of her kids. We didn't even have the same pregnancy problems

Re: Your labor experience compared with your mothers
My mother was in labor with me for 3 days. I was in labor (being induced) with Jake for 3 days. My mom ended up having a vaginal birth but I had a c-section. I think that's because they don't wait as long to do c/s anymore. I had to go into the NICU when I was born. Jake would have had to if I would've waited much longer for the c/s. My mom was 20 days late with me. I think Jake would have definitely stayed in there for 20 days if we would have let him!
