my son is 6 months old and is now eating oatmeal and other solids and his poop is hard like a walnut. i have tried everything from prune juice, to prunes and pears. i asked my doctor if i could use glcerin suppositories and she said yes but the box says fleet liquid ages 2-5. did anyone ever use this on a baby as young as my son?

Re: suppositories
my doctor had me try a 4 oz bottle with 1 TBSP sugar in it before I tried anything else..Apparently the sugar is a natural laxative. I used to just boil about a cup of water with 2 TBSP of sugar in it and I'd make myself 2 bottles..it usually worked right away..
All my girls had extremely firm stools and a couple of bottles like once or twice a week did the trick..and its natural..once the kids were on juice it was less of an issue..
