does anyone have a peditrician that pierces baby ears?
i would rather go to a doctor to have it done if possible.
and has anyone had it done where they numb the baby's ears??? a friend of our family told me this today and i was shocked - i didnt think they did. i will be soooo happy if its a common thing!!!!

I had my girls done in a jewelry store. They don't numb them. It literally takes a second. They use that gun thing. Why do you need to go to the dr. to do it? My girls ears were fine. You just have to keep them clean.

our ped did it. he didn't numb the ears first. she cried for about a minute and was over it.

I had it done by the ped, but she didn't numb it first. She used the same gun thing that they use in jewelry stores. DD cried for 1 minute and then she was totally fine. I actually fed her a bottle while they did it to keep her distracted.

Our ped did it with the same gun they use in jewelry stores. They did not numb her. It was easier than vaccinations.

dd's doc pierced her ears, he did not numb them before hand, and he used the same gun as a jewerly store. and she got an infection, so go figure.

Though my ped does do piercing, she actually recommended going to the mall instead. She told me that a) it's more expensive to get it done at the ped and b) the ped only pierces ears maybe once or twice a week, while people at the mall do it several times a day on a daily basis, therefore having more experience piercing ears. So, we went to the mall. They didn't numb first, they used the gun and pierced both ears at the same time. She cried for a little while and was fine afterwards.
ETA: I paid about $30 at the mall, while the ped said I would have paid AT LEAST $75 to get it done there.
