Need to ask for prayers & support
I haven't posted anything about this here, but I thought some people here might be willing to attend.
This is a little long-sorry.
My co-workers/friends & I are having a fundraiser for a dear friend.
Her name is Kirsten, she is 39. She has never been married and has no kids. All of her immediate relatives live OOS.
She is a dental hygienist and a vibrant, beautiful person.
She has cancer for the 3rd time.
She had breast cancer in her 20's & "beat" it. She was in dental hygeine school at the time.
She was diagnosed again in her early 30's & after alot of treatment she got "better". She lost all her hair & felt like crap, but never missed a day of work. It took her years to feel like herself again.
In October 2006 she was diagnosed again with breast cancer that has metastasized in her liver. The treatment this time has been wicked. Because of the severity of the lesions on her liver she is not a candidate for breast or liver surgery. She is really not able to work everyday and is often in pain. She owns a co-op and her uncovered medical expenses are  .
My friends & I take turns taking her to chemo every week so she never goes alone. I was with her on Friday & her oncologist admits they are doing all they can for her, but it doesn't look good. We are planning to get a second opinion at Sloan when she finishes this round of chemo.
I am sick over this & I promised her we would come up with some money for her so she can concentrate on getting better & not worry about her bills.
She wanted a kid friendly event that would be fun.
Kirsten requested a portion of the proceeds be donated to the Hewlett house-she is amazing.

i think you have an extremely big heart for taking her for her chemo treatment-i know they are not easy to watch

First of all, I have to say that you are a wonderful friend.
Secondly, I can't come to your function as I have a shower that day, but have you set up any way to make a donation...or FM me an address where I could send a check to help out.

Trust me... are ARE helping... just being there is, I'm sure, for her, a HUGE help.

I had lunch with her yesterday, she's feeling a little better this week.
She is really excited about the fundraiser & I'm happy she has it to look forward to.
