I'd bring it to a seamstress & ask. My wedding dress was let out on top & I had no idea that could be done.

I agree. It doesn't hurt to at least bring it to a seamstress to see if something can be done. If you really love the dress I say anything is worth a try.

It's worth a shot and the extra couple of bucks... I think I'll go this weekend.

While a good minimzer does minimize, the middle part usually comes up so high, and the straps are as wide and padded a backpack straps, they don't really work with dresses.

It's such a pain .Chat Icon

That stinks!

Is the bust part lined? A seemstress may be able to take out the lining and that would give the girls more room. Since the fabric is ruched it may work. I would ask the seemstrees to try that. If it did need to be lined, may be she could use a material with som strech in it....

Yeah, a bra wouldn't work, esp. a minimizing bra... they're are cups already sewn into the dress, so I'm not sure if taking them out would be good or bad b/c what would hold my chicas up?!

I'm hoping that the straps can be let out a little bit as well as the seams Chat Icon

Pray for me ladies... not to mention the goldish/silverish shoes I have look AMAZING with the dress!!!

If anyone can reco. their seamstress in the Babylon area that would GREAT. I'm going to post on NFR too Chat Icon

UPDATE: OK, So I got the dress yesterday and I LOVE IT! It's so pretty. One problem, it doesn't fit across my boobs! It fits perfectly everywhere else except the boob area (my gals are too big for the dress). I went back to Overstock, they don't even have the dress anymore. What can I do? I really love this dress... is there anything that a seamstress can do??? HELP my fellow fashionistas!!!!

I would bring the dress to a tailor and see if they can let out some of the back or side fabric.

Re: Yay or Nay UPDATE!!!

I just went through this with a dress on the 40% clearance rack at Lord and Taylor. I found the dress in another state in a size up, and had it shipped to me. I'm taking it for alterations.

See if you can find the same dress online a size up and maybe you can do the same thing. What is the brand of the dress?

I looked high and low for this dress... no such luck. Couldn't find it anywhere. It's Max & Cleo by BCBG
