Best Friend Spinoff?
is your DH your Best Friend?
I never really considered my DH to be my "Best Friend". Am i the closest to him...sure..never thought of it as being a BF.
My BF i do a lot of girly talk and things with.

Actually all throughout my 4 years of college before we started dating... we considered each other best friends.
When I was dating other people during school I would tell them flat out "My best friend is a guy- hope you understand"
It was incredible that we took the chance and took our friendship and turned it into the amazing relationship we have now.

NOW if you'd asked me this question when I was still friends with my former best girlfriend - well then I might have to say that she was indeed my "best friend".. When she and I were friends, we were practically inseparable. And during those years, neither of our ex-SO's really ever matched the friendship she and I had shared.. she was truly like a sister 
BUT as Leighla said, once that friendship fell apart , I find myself very reuluctant to get THAT close again to another female - yes I talk about girly stuff with my GFs and confide in them about things , but nowhere near what I used to, or do presently with my DH
So when I met DH, we clicked on every level and he really took on the role of my best friend/my lover/soulmate - EVERYTHING! I am fortunate in that regard

I think I am like a lot of others here. DH and I were best friends before. I still talk to my girl friends about girly things, but almost everything is shared with DH.

Yes, he really is my best friend. I am closer to him than anyone else, male or female.
My closest friends are very busy. One of them is in school and works. When we can fit eachother in thats when I have my 'girly' indulgences. SHOPPING! FH just doesn't understand the importance of a good pedicure and a haircut.
The other one is a newlywed (not on LIW), and she is a full-time Pioneer for the Jehova's Witnesses.
The last one is a guy, and he lives in Colorado right now. I email him often, and when he is in NYC, he stays with us.

I do have my girly best friends that I have grown up with and known before I met DH.
DH is my best friend too but he is waaaaay more than that. He is my soul mate too.

Yes and he constantly reminds me of how I am his BF. I think its really special, we talk about everything and neither one of us is afraid to tell eachother something even if it has to do with the opposite sex or exes. at times it feels a little weird b/c you dont want to upset eachother but I think its what makes us stronger- our bond. with my girlfriend who is my BF I find I tell her less than my DH, with her we go into more detail about men thats basically the difference.

He is my best friend but so is my sister. I am lucky to have them both for different reasons. I also have a friend from kindergarten that I consider to be one of my closest friends..
