Are You Doing Hardwood Floors Or Carpet In The Nursery

DH and I love hardwood floors for DD nursery with just a rug by the side of the crib. I am totally not a carpet person at all. I am curious to know what everyone is doing for their nursery.

Same here. We have hardwood in there now and we are just going to do an area rug.

Re: Are You Doing Hardwood Floors Or Carpet In The Nursery

I am actually the opposite. I love carpeting in bedrooms, especially in babies rooms. I was just talking to Tanaholic about this the other day and she was saying how her son rolls all over his floor in his room and what would she do if it were just hardwood and an area rug? Also, I think of all the times I sit on the floor in his room now (even just to put stuff away and together) and can't imagine sitting on hardwood.

I know alot of people who prefer hardwood though - so it really is a personal preference.

We have hardwood floors...I registered for the matching rug that goes with the bedding set. That will be the only rug in the room.

Our 1st floor is all hardwood and our 2nd floor is carpet. I love carpet in bedrooms. We are always on the floor upstairs playing and I think it is easier for him to crawl on the carpet.

Re: Are You Doing Hardwood Floors Or Carpet In The Nursery

Our plan was to get rid off the carpet and put laminate floors.

We ran out of time. So that will be done later.

Re: Are You Doing Hardwood Floors Or Carpet In The Nursery

We just got all new carpet in the bedrooms. DH's like the house "cold" so I thought hardwood floors would not be cozy for a baby with his temperature choice. If he had normal body temperature and the house was warm and cozy I would probably go with hardwood and an area rug.
I have to let DH win some battles.

We have nice hardwood floors in our new house. We just had the whole first floor redone. So no carpet for our nursery - we might just get a small throw rug that can be washed - it is easier to clean and easier to keep the dust level down if you have allergies.

We currently have hard wood - which I never had before. I like it, but not so much in the bedroom.

Re: Are You Doing Hardwood Floors Or Carpet In The Nursery

We just moved into our new home and the previous owners had hardwood everywhere except in their two kid's room. We ripped it up and getting them re-finished next week.

Re: Are You Doing Hardwood Floors Or Carpet In The Nursery

We have all hardwood floors. I can't have carpet in my bedroom due to my allergies to my dog, but do like the idea of having carpet in the babies room. However I dont want to deal with putting carpet down and damaging my floors at all so I am just going to get a large area rug which will take up most of the open floor space.

I love hardwood too and eventually plan to refinish the hardwood floor upstairs but since they are such a mess right now - and $ is tight...we went with new carpeting for now.
