miscarriage question

My cousin announced her pregnancy and then lost the baby a month later. when is the clear point to tell the family? She is pregnant again and has made it past 3 months without announcing it to everyone. Should it be after the 1st sono or when you here the heartbeat. Thanks.

Re: miscarriage question

once you see or hear a heartbeat the chances of MS drop significantly. (it also drops significantly after the three month mark).

Re: miscarriage question

Most people I know, if they are going to wait, they wait til the 3 month mark has passed.

Re: miscarriage question

I'm in the minority... I feel like not telling anyone until it's completely obvious. I waited 2 months to tell everyone, then miscarried at 4 months! Supposedly, m/c drop after the 3 month mark, but tell that to us ladies who lost pregnancies after that. Chat Icon

Re: miscarriage question

I had a miscarriage @ 11 weeks and had already told a few friends and our parents. The way I look at it is - the people I share my happiness with in telling them that I AM pg are the same people I want to share my sorrow with if I were to MC. With this pg, I didn't wait to tell even though we had the mc just 3 months before.
