Did I do the right thing?
DH and I are going to Playa del Carmen-Iberostar Parisio del Mar next month. We got a call today that our flight was cancelled and we have to find a new one. So, the travel agent assigned by the online booking site offers us this (besides our $ back, which I don't want b/c I want to go away!):
fly out of Newark, good flight times, free extra night at our resort (but we have to drive to Newark...FIL may be able to take us)-no extra cost
fly out of JFK still, on American, not so good flight times (basically we only have 1/2 day when we arrive, and we would leave for the airport right after breakfast), $180 more (but we can get to JFK reasonable quickly)
What would you have done?
ETA: I had choosen Newark.

Newark!! No extra cost and free extra night... i'd deal with the longer drive to the airport.
