Thanks everyone! He took a long, drugged out nap from his Benadryl and he woke and its still all red and puffy, but the swelling went down. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed he's getting better.

Awww... if you lived here in CA, I would say it was a spider bite.
Poor guy
My mom looked at it this afternoon (she's a nurse) and she told me it looked like a spider bite too!
my nephew just had a spider bite on his leg, and it blew up like a balloon. He was put on antibiotics. His dr. said he has seen alot of this lately (her on long island).
I hope your son feels better soon.

Add me to the list saying it was a spider bite; I had one of those once and my arm looked like popeye's after a can of spinach 
Hope the benadryl does the trick!

It looks like a spider bite to me only because i have had a few and they swell up like that, or possibly an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite. I have seen that happen to people who are allergic to mosquitos. Poor little guy, Hope he feels better soon.

How is he this morning? Has the swelling gone down?
At different times, Maddie & Joe had bug bites on their eye lid. I could believe the swelling. It took a few days for Joseph & almost a week for Maddie.
I hope Andrew's is quicker.

Thanks for asking! He is much better this morning! looks like the Benadryl is working and I won't have to give him the antibiotics! His ear is just a little red and puffy, but no where near where it was yesterday!
