I have an interview in Queens on Thursday. I am keepign everything crossed that I get it. I also have a resume in at a private school in Port Washington. I know a teacher there who is calling the principal for me. It starts at $40K (not bad for a private school). She said that the raise was great at the end of her first year. Not my ideal situation, but better than nothing.

hang in there ladies! When I was job hunting, I didn't get calls until late August. It was very frustrating, but don't give up hope!

Update!! I just got a call that I got a job in a public school!! I'm thrilled!! The principal said he loved me and he's finding a spot for me in his school no matter what he has to do!!!
I'm sooo excited!!! And sad cuz I don't want to make that phone call to my current school and tell them I won't be back...(definitely waiting till I sign a contract!)

FH had an interview yesterday for a LI Public School and has another one tomorrow he loves where he is now (NYC), but its so far of a commute for him.

I hate that I am in the job hunt again - esp since it took so long to get my perm guidance job up here!

Waiting for callbacks from different people I've left messages for - spoke with one of the county recruiters today - she is hoping by the end of this week they will be done filling in positions of people who were excessed and then the jobs will be open market. Just booked tickets to go down to FL on 7/20 for a few days - 2nd Broward County job fair I'm attending - we have a major wedding the night before and are getting on a 6:10 AM plane - oy vey - but you do what you gotta do!

There actually ended up being 5 guidance openings in my district but they were all filled - sorry
