Re: Doctoral Programs
St. John's has a program in Instructional Leadership and another in Educ. Administration. Within the next year they are planning to add another doctoral degree in reading/literacy.
I am in the Instructional Leadership program with a focus on educational administration and technology. A lot of students focus on learning styles, though, within the program. If you have any questions, please fm.

I am pretty sure Dowling had a doctoral program.
I'm going to do a shameless plug right now........
My advice is to look into Teachers College, Columbia University. I just got my masters there, and let me tell you...expensive, but completely worth EVERY PENNY. I got an education there unlike any other that I would have gotten elsewhere. At TC, you don't learn ABOUT programs that other people have created, you learn FROM the people that created them.
If you're going into Literacy, you'll definitely want to look at TC. Even though I've since moved out of NY, people here in NC know about TC, and I have about 10 job offers coming here. It's a renowned program.
If you want more information, please feel free to FM! But I can whole-heartedly say that it's by far the best place to do your higher studies in the area.

I all honestly I only mentioned Dowling because we just interviewed someone who is getting their doctorate from Dowling.
I am sure that TC is worth every penny
