why do I feel so guilty
Because I was not "militant" this weekend, I feel so guilty.
I ended up having like two glasses of wine on Friday-- and it hit me the wrong way on Saturday. Although I still got up and went to the gym-- I ate a couple extra things that I shouldn't have had-- although still being pretty good.
Of course I weighed myself, as I do every morning and I gained a pound and a half from the day before!! I am HOPING that it just comes off, and was bloat, etc. I am also due for my period in the next day or so-- but I feel so wraught with guilt that I was not as good as I could be.
Went to the gym again this morning--- but still feel badly.
eta-- ok, I weighed myself this morning and I am down a pound. I really need to stop weighing myself every day, but I cannot help it!!! I still do feel guilty because of the weekend-- and I think about what I could have accomplished if I was a "model dieter" this weekend. I really know how to stress myself out!

Re: why do I feel so guilty
One thing Ive realized is that you should indulge every now and again because otherwise you will binge like crazy and really go overboard
I just came back from a 2 week vacation where I did not limit anything I put in my mouth (frozen drinks, fried foods, desserts) and when I weighed myself last night I only gained 3 pounds....I will be going to the gym daily now that I have the summer off but Im sure the occasional splurge will not set you back greatly
Oh and get rid of the scale! Its a horrible invention and hinders weight loss...use a measuring tape instead!

I agree that you should indulge yourself occasionally, so that you can have a little bit of what you're craving rather than letting it build up and going completely overboard.
Don't feel badly about weighing yourself. I actually weigh myself every day too. I know it's a bit obsessive, but it's really the only thing that keeps me on track. Also, it's good for me to understand how my body reacts to certain foods, like if I'm integrating certain carbs into my diet. It's also important to go by how your clothes are fitting too though.

Re: why do I feel so guilty
I wouldn't feel bad about indulging-- if I really did indulge-- and if I felt I deserved it. I have only been at this religiously for about 6 or 7 weeks, I don't deserve to fall off the wagon yet! Especially when I am starting to see results.
Anyway-- I will get over it. Let's see where I am at by Saturday.

Re: why do I feel so guilty
It's hard not to beat yourself up sometimes, especially when you're looking for results and working hard every day but have your slip ups.
Like you said, just deal with it and move on. Slipping up once in a while doesn't make us failures, just human
