JHS, I hate to beat a dead horse...

I got my hair straightened at Top Point less than 2 weeks ago, and my hair after the first wash needed a hair straightener. 2-3 washes later, my hair was frizzy and wavy....not as bad as before but still bad. I called up Janice at Top Point and complained...I ended up going back in yesterday and getting it redone. Right now it looks the same way it did last time I walked out of the salon...perfect! I'm just afraid after the first wash it will go back to looking horrid.
For those who had JHS, what type of shampoo did you use the first time you washed your hair? I used some sort of L'Oreal and thinking maybe that might have had something to do with it.

I already spent 10 hours in that damn chair and just want it to be straight and frizz free Chat Icon

Sometimes it doesn't take, and you did the right thing by going back.

The shampoo/conditioner that you use does not matter, but it is important that you do not wash your hair for at least three days after you've left the salon.

i think the shampoo and conditioner helps - i have really fine frizzy hair prior to jhs and pantene straight or smooth seems to help

also the second time i had to use a leave in conditoner in the beginning

I use Pantene also but I really don't think the shampoo is going to make a huge difference here if they didn't do good job on the JHS.

I hope this time it works out better for you! Chat Icon

Question - did they charge you do redo it?

Nope, when I walked in, Janice said to me that she knew I would be back because her assistant didn't leave in some lotion long enough....I was like NOW you tell me! lol
I didn't even tip them...I think it was messed up enough that I had to leave work early and find a ride there and sit AGAIN for 3+ hours, for something that should have been done right the first time Chat Icon

That'll do it.. not leaving the solution in for long enough. My hair is VERY kinky curly... so when my lady does my JHS, she has to use the strongest level of the Liscos solution, and it stays on my head for at least 45 minutes. Last time i got a touch up, she tested it to make sure it was done, rinsed it all out, and as she was drying it to iron, decided she had to put the first solution in for longer. I started crying hysterically because I was so releived to finally have the solution out and now it was going back in! Worth every tear though, cause it's perfect now. If she hadn't made the decision to put the solution back in I'd be in the same boat as you!

Hope this time it works out for you... and hopefully now they'll know for next time that they need to make sure you're "cooked" before they rinse out the solution.

Shampoo and conditioner has nothnig to do with it.. you should be able to use dishwashing detergent and still have super shiney, straight and smooth hair...

But the second time around I didn't feel is was in for much longer. They finished my hair in 3 hours as opposed to the first time when it took 6 hours.
I hope for their sake this comes out right, because I will definately cause a rukus if I had to sit there for 9+ hours and still have frizzy hair.

Your hair was basically half way or more done.. so the 2nd time you went in, you didn't need the solution on any longer than the first... you just had to get to where you should have been on your first visit.

Think of it like this...

if someone with wavy hair goes to have JHS, the solution might stay in their hair for 20 min. then someone with really curly hair might need the solution on for 30 minutes. You ming have needed 45 minutes, but if you got say 30 minutes in the first go around, you'd only need another 15 in the second.

Make sense?
