Elementary Teachers - I need lesson help please!!!

I am finishing up a course on "Diversity Education".

I need 6 lesson plans dealing with children's books on the following topics: gender, sexual orientation, race, color, creed, national origin, religion, and handicap.

I have to write it up in the following lesson format:
Lesson Topic:

Grade Level:

Time:

Objectives:

Content Connections: (connections to previous or future lessons)

Materials:

NYS Learning Standards:

Management:

Lesson: (should be step by step, including questions to be asked)

Follow-up activities:

Evaluation:

I am a secondary Foreign Language teacher and I have NO idea where to even start looking for ideas for this. I somehow need to have it done by Wednesday.

Does anyone have any lesson plans they can share with me??

please please please please please please please please???????? Or at least point me in the right direction?????

There are so MANY books on these topics, i wouldn't even know where to begin... i would suggest googling some of the follwoing authors:

Christopher Paul Curtis (haswritten many AMAZING books focusing on African-American families and cultures)

Lois Lowry (number the Stars, about the Holocaust)

Patricia Reilly Giff... has done a lot of historical fiction

Quit It is a great book about a girl with Tourette's.... I forget the author)

the above books are chapter books aimed at grades 4 and up...

there are so so so many picture books for kids on these topics... honestly, i would go to your library and go to the children's section and take a look... i would also go to the librarian for help.

ETA: Once you see the books, it will be easy to see how you can create a lesson out of them and relate them to their lives and experiences.
