Check if your lease requires that a certain percentage of the apartment is required to be covered by rugs. If so, then the neighbors' probably does also. Maybe you can tell the management, without being graphic, that you have been hearing noise and you were wondering if they could check to see if this couple is in compliance with any floor covering requirement and if not, could this requirement be enforced. A layer of rug or carpet might help some.

Ohh boy! LOL We had this issue with our first "garden" apartment in Farmingdale back in the day. Except the couple upstairs was a pair of men and they LOVED that song with lyrics "You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals, so lets do it like they do on the Discovery Channel"
It was always a precursor of what was to come!
DH and I got a kick out of it for a while. Thank goodness it was never in the middle of the night..

I don't know. I don't really see a big here.
it's sex. people have it. it's to be enjoyed. it's not their "fault" really that you can hear them...it's the building.
if you think it's the springs, get some WD-40 and leave it at their door step...if you want to further elaborate, leave some KY Jelly...lube for EVERYONE! 
I left WD40 at their door!

I guess it's a lot worse because I know what they look like, and god forgive me, but they aren't the most attractive people. I actually caught a visual of them and I really believe that made it 10x worse!!
I told DH I'm sleeping in the living room tonight.

It's not funny but it is. I like the idea of taping them and then leave the tape at their doorstep.
I would be careful complaining though. I complained about our neighbor and his loud music and I was given notice that they were terminating MY lease for "harrassment" of neighboring tenants
