nervous!! please help!
im a little nervous because next year my husband and i will be moving to long island. (not until 9/2007, so im getting a little ahead of myself!)
i hear that teaching jobs are so hard to come by. i have 5 years experience in first grade, and would love any help/advice you have about entering the job pool.
any openings that you know will be available? i'll send my resume NOW!

I am sorry to say that teaching jobs are very hard to come by here. Colleges are spitting out graduates all the time. I, as well as many others have been searching for 2, 3 years....You can either sub, or try in the city....That's about it.
What does your husband do?
Where are you moving from?

im coming from MA. i also am in a leadership position at my current school and am hoping that that will help. but stories like yours make me feel less hopeful! it seems so difficult. my husband is an accountant. i can only hope that networking with other teachers like you guys could possibly help...

Well, at least he has a good job! Iam in an opposite position of you! I want to move north! MA, VT, NH...but no jobs!
Are there many jobs where you are from?

buti feel like just wiht hte stories ive heard that it is near impossible in NY and you will eventually find something in MA...there are always people who get hired labor day weekend but at leat they get a job
