Want to start running
So, it's time to get my fat a$$ in shape. I started WW a few weeks ago and haven't gotten very far with it. I also joined a gym but it is just too hard to go to with the baby and DH's work schedule. I was luckily able to freeze my membership for a couple of months. I know the best thing for me to do is to run but I honestly haven't ran in YEARS, probably since I played sports in college. And I dont find it as enjoyable as some, but I know it will be good for me and help me shed the baby pounds fairly quickly. I found this old post from Lipglossjunky with a schedule to start running which I think I will follow http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml.
I really would like to lose the 40 lbs I have gained since I graduated college, got married and had a baby. I'm sick of buying bigger clothes, never feeling comfortable and also feeling chunky. When you started running, did you find you lost weight fairly quickly? I will stick with WW so I will still be eating healthy. What running shoes do you recommend? Any other advice or words of wisdom would be helpful also

Re: Want to start running
I have to say I never did well running - I do kickboxing and thats my workout. I keep trying that couch to 5K, and want so much to run, but keep failing... any suggestions?

Re: Want to start running
Just bookmarked the site. I was looking to start running too. It's been ages since I ran regularly (outside of running for trains). I'd love to get back into shape!
Thanks for posting it!

Re: Want to start running
I actually started this running program and am on Week 4. I really like it and think it is a very manageable program to stick with!
As for sneakers, I wear Saucony and I love them! I also need an I-Pod to run. Listening to music makes it so much more enjoyable.
No other advice except to wish you good luck and definitely stick with it

Re: Want to start running
I'm running again, just started this week. I can go about 2 miles at a slow jog and I'll try to increase it every few days. I just bought new Sauconys as well, I have used them in the past for running and I loved them. They are lightweight and comfy.
