because you must expose children to the arts. Most kids dont' go to museums, etc. anymore... they are missing out on learning about art, history and culture without seeing visual arts.
Also, develops critical and abstract thinking skills (why and how questions)
Also, special ed. kids and really ALL kids benefit from another form of presentation. Visuals are very powerful learning tools.
