Pity Party
I’m having a rough night. Week actually. Not sure if it is the culmination of work stress, being swamped with tasks for the THIRD baby shower I’m throwing within a year or the fact that my “shoulda been due date” is next week.
(After being told we wouldn’t conceive naturally, we did, but it was ectopic.)
DH and I are stuck in the middle somewhere between TTC and waiting to resume testing and starting meds. Since we conceived naturally, they want us to keep trying, but because I have only one fallopian tube left, only every other month really counts.
I’m just sick of this. After two years, I don’t feel as though I am any closer to having a child than I have ever been. Part of me wants to stop TTC and just forget about it for a while, but I’m almost 33 and am afraid to get any older. We may have years of IF ahead of us.
I’m tired of being patient, I’m tired of TTC, I’m tired of being the only childless couple we know. I am dreading the two baptisms and the baby shower I have in the next two weeks. I secretly hate the insensitive friends who send emails with “look how our lives have changed” in the subject line and baby pictures in the body of the email.
We even had houseguests for two months (temporarily homeless cousins) who accidentally conceived a second child they can’t afford in our spare bedroom six weeks ago!
I’m tired of putting on a brave face for the rest of the world (and not posting because LIF isn’t entirely anonymous) and I just want to scream.
Thanks for letting me vent. Only you ladies could possibly understand this.

im so sorry you are going thru this. it does seem very unfair.
i too had a MC and some other bad things happen recently and i got a lot of wonderful support from these boards which was a comfort. hopefully you find the same.. dont give up. thinking of you and sending

I am so sorry. Nobody really understands except the people on these boards. People can be so insensitive. A couple of months after I had the first of one of my many MCs a family member gave a gift to another family member who was obviously TTC and said "for the mother-to-be" as I sat there like an idiot. People just do not think of your feelings and what you are going through. It is so hard.

You'll be happy to know this is not true. You do not alternate every other month-it is hit or miss. Even if you O from the bad side the other tube can reach out and pick up that egg. I have researched this extensively as I am in the same situation

Hey, I'm joining you in your pity party now. Just heard from the dr. I updated my post. I feel like this is so unfair for all of us. Lets hang in there as best we can as hard as I know it is.

Back before I met DH and was 30+ and chronically single, I would decline invitations to non-essential showers and even weddings. It was just too hard and took so much out of me, so I chose to stop. Avoidance is no cure-all, but it sure helped me not bring my spirits down for a few Saturday afternoons.

Trust in God that he has perfect timing , I know its hard to believe when everyone around you is having babies, its just not your time yet! have faith, and dont give up! you will have your moments, as we all do , just take courage that you are not in this alone. vent when you need to, and we are here for you! I know you were trying to be nice but it is very annoying when someone new posts on here and talks about how God has a plan for us. I personally find this offensive and for those that know me, I don't find much offensive

FYI If this is true God's timing has really really really SUCKED for my DH and I. I think it IS my time after 4 pregnancy losses and removal of a fallopian tube

Thanks everybody. I'm doing better for now, but am planning my day tomorrow (my due date) very carefully. When I lost the pregnancy, I dreaded this date, but thought I would be okay because for sure I'd be pregnant by now. We all know how that goes...
Anyway, I really appreciate your support. You are all awesome. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have these boards.
