Flights to Europe
Anyone know any good sites to check out for cheap flights to Europe from the U.S. and also within Europe, particularily Ireland and Portugal? Going next year and trying to find the most frugal way to visit both (family time).
Thanks!!!

Re: Flights to Europe
I know RyanAir has great rates within Europe.
I usually find my flights from the states through Kayak.

Re: Flights to Europe
We have had HUGE success with Iceland Air. (We fly out of Baltimore, but they also fly out of JFK)
They are extremely extremely affordable.
We'll fly into a major airport in Europe and use that kind of as our "hub" for the trip and take discount airlines around it.
We did this once with Amsterdam and did Finland, Estonia, and Belgium.
Two weeks ago we did this with Copenhaven and did Latvia, Lithuania, and Sweden.

Re: Flights to Europe
I always got the best rates with Aer Lingus to Ireland. If you book online, they have webfares which are the lowest rates. Delta were only a few $s more, but their schedule wasn't as good.
TAP is the Portugese Airline. I flew them from Ireland to Lisbon a few times and they were good. I don't know what their prices are like and I believe they only fly out of Newark.
When I flew to Dublin last month, I noticed that a lot of the passengers were travelling on to another destination, so I expect the Aer Lingus fares are very competitive.
Ryanair is probably the cheapest airline within Europe. The do fly to Faro in Portugal, but not to Lisbon. Aer Lingus also has pretty reasonable flights within Europe and I think their service is much better.

Re: Flights to Europe
Aer LIngus is not bad... but book on-line and way in advance. my family and i fly there frequently to see family, but they can screw you... they are not always the best way to go. they used to have 2 for 1 deals and such, but the past couple of years they seemed to have stopped that.
Delta flies to ireland as well as Continental. Continental is often cheapest...but they only fly to Ireland from Newark.
I love Ryan Air for within Europe or also Easy Jet... but those carriers have weight restrictions and if you go over 1o KG, they charge you. most people particualrly if you're traveling for a long time, go over weight. (I'm usually fine as i'm a light packer and stay with family in Europe so I can do laundry!)
