renting a car seat in FLA - any advice?
We are going to FL in Feb. and I was thinking of renting a car seat but the car rental people said its first come first served. We don't land until 2pm? How could anyone risk not getting a car seat, its not like I can run to cvs and pick one up while DS hangs out in the airport

Don't do it.
My SIL rented one for my neice when she was just over 1 and it was gross and WAY too big for her. My SIL had to go to Wal Mart and buy another convertible (luckily she was going to visit MIL so she just left it there)

we used dollar rent a car in january when we went to orlando. we got a brand new car seat out of the plastic. no first come first serve.

we used dollar rent a car in january when we went to orlando. we got a brand new car seat out of the plastic. no first come first serve.
Interesting b/c my SIL used Dollar in Tampa

dollar in orlando was great. there was no one waiting there so we went right through. the car we got was immaculate and brand new, so was the car seat. i had booked the entire trip through expedia and had no problems.

hope you have a better experience than Kate's sil...
You could always buy one there if you had to....you can't bring your own? That may be better, they can gate check it onto the plane

I would never chance it that the rental place has the seats. It's much safer and guaranteed if you bring your own. Even if they always have new ones (what rental place has "disposable" car seats so that each person has a brand new one?....), what if an hour before, a flock of moms comes in and rents all the available seats?

I'd bring my own...we went to Chicago and did this with DS. I didnt want to take the risk.
