Any Middle School Teachers
Hi I am a school librarian and was just informed today that I am teaching reading one period a day to seventh graders. It's a CTT class and the 2 teachers will be in the room........A waste of money if you ask me.......but that's NYCDOE for you. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for lessons/helpful websites on readers workshop for middle schoolers. Please help..................

Re: Any Middle School Teachers
What is CTT? Is that like AIS (acedemic intervention services)?
How many students are in this class?

Read Write Think is the best site I have come across. It has specific lessons on a pretty wide range of topics.
Also, if there's money in the budget, maybe you can see if the school will order Time for Kids for the class. It only goes up to 6th grade, but my kids are not on grade level (8th grade) and they love it- you can't tell that it's the 4th-6th grade edition. They have great feature stories and you can do a lot of spin-off activities.

CTT is collaborative team teaching - its the cities word for inclusion!
