Do you leave the heat on for you furkids?

We always say we leave the air on for them but what about the heat? They always say to put the heat on a programable thermostat so it's not on when you aren't home. I always worry about Rudy.

In the meantime he is so hairy he is probably so warm without it on Chat Icon

We leave ours on low for them. Chat Icon When they get chilly they bury themselves under the blankets on our bed. Chat Icon

yes, in our complex we have low 68 degrees and high 72 degrees, we leave it on low for them. Last night was the first night we had to put it on high. It was freeeezing, but i turned on low this morning for the furbabies.

I know dogs get a thicker coat in the winter to keep warm but not sure about cats. We only have a dog, and we just leave the temp at a certain temp. all day/night

We leave it on about 60-65, we wouldn't want her to freeze all day and she seems happy when I get home, not like she's cold.

NO Chat Icon In that respect I am selfish Chat Icon I hate having high heating bills...plus Casey and my 2 cats are super furry and snuggle all day in their beds...so I am not worried about them. Chat Icon

Re: Do you leave the heat on for you furkids?

It doesn't go below 63 in our house during the day...we actually have it set colder at night when we are home (60), so I figure they are fine!

Re: Do you leave the heat on for you furkids?

we keep it on 65 on the first floor, which is where we keep Riley in her crate all day. Upstairs its off and that is usually where Jessi and Morgan hang out. But i'm not worried about them, they stay under the bed and snuggle together Chat Icon

Re: Do you leave the heat on for you furkids?

I leave it at 65 or 66.....we keep it on 68 when we're home so it's not a big change but we do see a difference, and they stay warm. Now that we have Daisy and she's so little we have to keep the heat on or she'll freezeChat Icon
