Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
If so do you just run the bottle under hot water or do you heat it some other way?
I have been using powder, but my mom just bout me some ready to use and not sure if I am supposed to heat it after its been in the fridge. I know we are not supposed to microwave it, but wasnt sure about heating it on the stove top.
TIA!

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
I have given Lucas BM and formula that was cold - straight from the fridge if we were in a hurry. Otherwise I warm either one under hot water to make it warm - especially for bed.
He has always taken it any way he gets it...never complained although the warm puts him to sleep and the cold not so much.

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
it's entirely up to you. I've done both.
If I ever did heat it up, I always put it in the microwave for a lil bit and then when it was done, I'd put the top on the bottle and shake it up for a few seconds to mix it up well and then give it to DD/DS. I was never one for using a bottle warmer or heat it up on the stove. Nothing worse than waking up for a middle of the night feeding with a crying kid and having to wait 15 minutes for the water to boil! bleh! lol

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
I had the drop in's so when DS was first born I would fill up a tall tupperware with warm water and let the bottle sit in their a couple of minutes to take the chill out. Eventually I just started giving it to him right out of the fridge and never had a problem.

I warm it up (take the chill out) by filling a coffe mug with hot water and placing the bottle inside.

Ditto.
We didn't used to, but daycare warms all his bottles and the little bugger got spoiled.

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
in the beginning I used to put her bottle in a mug & run hot water. When she started drinking bigger bottles it took to long to heat that way, so I used the microwave. I still use the microwave to take the chill out of her milk.

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
I use a bottle warmer to heat it up. But if she is crying I just give it to her cold. She doesn't seem to mind.

i always warm it in the bottle warmer... i try not to make it too warm though so he doesn't get used to just having it that way.

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
I've always used the micro to take the chill/warm bottles with my formula-i used powder. (I never ever micro'd BM though, it kills the good stuff)
I know exactly how long for how many ounces, and i just shake to get the hot spots out. Plus you should always test it even if you warm it in hot water.
The micro is just soooo much easier when you have a screaming baby that's hungry.
#2 she never gets a warmed bottle now, my oldest still won't take her milk cold and she's 18 months old! My youngest will take it cold or room temp.

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
I just run the bottle under warm water or let it sit in a container of warm water to take the chill out.

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
I either run it under hot water, or put a little hot water in a coffee mug and put the bottle in it and leave it for a little bit.
My dr said that cold formula can bother the baby's belly- and lord knows DD doesn't need anything else to bother her belly!

Re: Do you heat the formula that comes out of the fridge?
We warm it in a Tupperware with very warm tap water and we leave it in the Tupperware for just a minute or 2. We have a bottle warmer but we seem to like the Tupperware thing better. I was told that some people do not get warm enough tap water and the bottle warmer is better in that situation.
