Complaints to Airline?
Has anyone ever written a complaint to an airline based on delays/missed connections? If so, what do you ask them to do usually - refund the ticket, give you airline miles or a free ticket somewhere? I'm just not sure what I should ask them to do. Thanks!

Re: Complaints to Airline?
I once sent a complaint to Ticket Master after being charged twice for tickets i bought.
I did some research and sent my letter to EVERY CEO in the company and about 2 weeks later i got a call from a woman who fully refunded me and asked for as much details about what happened so she could make sure it didnt happen again.
Anyway, I didnt ask for any kind of reimbursement. My goal was to let them know i was upset about their service. I didnt really expect to get a call.... but the letter made me feel better LOL.
Just write it and see what happens.

I hate to sound like a cynic.. but this stuff is so commonplace with traveling now, that I doubt you'll get anything unless you had an extremely extreme case.
I would think that unless you were delayed like DAYS they would be very unsmypathetic. If not, airlines would be even more bankrupt-prone than they are now... esp if they had to give refunds for everyone forced to sleep in an airport overnight....

Re: Complaints to Airline?
I DID!! Air Jamaica cancelled their flight so we had to stay another night on our honeymoon... not bad I know, but they didn't tell us til we were on the way to the airport It turned into an insurance nightmare trying to get the extra night covered, etc. I needed a letter from them stating the reason why the flight was cancelled.
Air Jamaica gave me SUCH the runaround. I emailed them EVERY day Called them at least 2x a week and finally got VERY angry with them. I let them have it. They were NOT customer friendly. FINALLY, I got through to a nice person and after about 6 months, got the letter i needed for my travel insurance along with 2 $150 vouchers for a flight! and a letter of apology for the inconvenience.

Re: Complaints to Airline?
I got some credits when I complained to US Air about 2 years ago. The flight was delayed so we missed one flight then sat on the runaway without ac for a while. I don't remember how much the credits were for but at least we got something.
