Traveling while pregnant
Hi Ladies! I'm new and looking for some advice.
My husband and I are going on a 3 week European Cruise for this July since we never went on a honeymoon for many reasons. I spoke with my doctor about the possibility of being pregnant while away and she said that she would prefer it be during the second trimester.
I would love to hear some of your experiences or advice. We are not sure if we should hold off on trying until after the trip but that might be really hard. We both have some serious baby fever.
Thanks!

Don't let TTC interfere with living. If you want to go on a cruise - GO!

Definitely TTC. you never know what will happen. I traveled in the first, second and third with my first. I haven't flown yet in this pregnancy ( had a long drive to SC from GA). Will fly 4x within the next month. I will be just getting into my 3rd tri.

Re: Traveling while pregnant
I wouldn't put your life on hold while ttc. July is a long time away if you truly have baby fever!
That being said, I know there is no way I would have wanted to be on vacation the way I felt my first trimester. I was a physical and emotional wreck and just felt horrible every day. I couldn't eat a thing and the thought of a combination of morning sickness along with seasickness is unimaginable to me.
I don't know if this is possible, but would you be able to purchase travel insurance and then if you are pg when the trip comes along, maybe get a doctor's note or something that would let you get out of the trip and most of your money back?

Re: Traveling while pregnant
I would say TTC away!
A lot of women get their BFP when they are away and are enjoying themselves w/o stress!
It's up to you and your doctor of course, but my doctor was totally ok with me traveling throughout the 1st and 2nd trimester, and just had me limit my travels in the 3rd tri.
Have fun when you go!!!!!!!!!

Re: Traveling while pregnant
I travel a ton with my job. My OB told me that she wants me to stop at 32 weeks. My friend that is due next week (and has my same job) said she stopped at 27 weeks because it became too much to travel on a plane alone with her laptop and things. I didn't get Morning Sickness, so my travel didn't slow during the first trimester. I'm now in my second and have been on 4 planes in less than a week. I have 3 more round trips before Christmas.
That being said, you never know when you'll get your BFP. I would TTC and if you book the trip within the timeframe that you could be in your third trimester on your trip, buy insurance. If you get pregnant, I'd then cancel it.
