fibroid question
Do any of you have fibroids? I have a large one, but my doctor says it shouldn't interfere with me getting pregnant. When I search fiboids on the internet it says that some women have difficulty getting PG and if they do many have miscarrriges. I'm very concerned. I'm been seeing an RE since February. I'm taking clomid for the 6th time and have had 3 IUIs. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

Re: fibroid question
Have you gone for a 2nd opinion?
I had a large one and had it removed in June. The RE and myself, felt more comfortable removing it than having it cause problems if I was to get pregnant.

Re: fibroid question
I developed fibroids when I got pg. From all my research I found out that uterine fibroids are often fed by the increased blood flow that occurs during early pregnancy. Then, once blood starts going to the placenta and baby, these fibroids can die off and cause pain and toxins to flood the system This is what occurred with me.
Many time miscarriage CAN occur- but my doctor never told me that, the wonderful internet did.
Oftentimes, uterine fibroids can't be removed without removing the whole uterus. In my case, the fibroids were grown into the uterine wall. The largest one grew to the size of a grapefruit while I was pg and my whole uterus were encased in lots of smaller ones.
Other than having pain and needing painkillers during the first trimestser, I actually had a very easy pregnancy. The only issue I had was when people would rub the obvious bump sticking out of my side and I'd have to tell them they were actually loving up on my fibroid, not the baby.
My delivery had mild complications but weren't from the fibroids- my DD's shoulders are/were too wide and she needed to be vacuumed out.
Good luck- fm me if you have any other questions.....
