Re: Dont mean to jump the gun, but New Years Eve snack ideas?

We're doing one also. My menu will consist of all finger foods so there are no forks and knives permitted!!

Starters: 8pm-9:30pm
veggie platter
cheese/crackers
shrimp cocktail
hummus and warm pitas

Hot food (all homeade and pre-made and will serve room temp): 9:30pm-11pm
coconut shrimp served w/sweet (like duck) sauce
pan fried dumplings
stuffed mushrooms
swedish meatballs
sesame chicken skewers w/honey soy sauce
pigs in a blanket for the kiddies

Dessert: 11pm-12pm
cubed fruit w/marshmallow dipping sauce
I'll be running my chocolate fountain w/lots of things to dip in (pound cake, strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels, etc)
and probably bakery cookies or whatever people bring

Decorations:
A TON of black and siver balloons, black and silver napkins/plastic plates, a few 2008 signs from the party place (no cheap looking things like those noise makers)

HTH!!!

Re: Dont mean to jump the gun, but New Years Eve snack ideas?

my favoite thing is an awesome tortilla chip dip.

Take one package of cream cheese and spread it all over a pie pan. Cover that with a can of salsa. Cover that with shredded mexican cheese (I think it's three cheese- with monterey jack and a couple others). Put it in the oven and wait til its melted. It's sooooo good!
