How old was your DS when you gave him his 1st haircut?
DS is only 8 1/2 months but his hair is just wild. It is long and DH wants to cut it but I dont know if I'm ready yet

DH is talking about cutting Troy's hair too!
He wants to give him a buzz cut!  I'm not ready for that!!
If anything I'd trim the back part (by the crown of his head) as that is noticably longer than the rest. Maybe a "real" big boy hair cut (buzz) closer to 1 yr

He just got his first haricut last week at almost 12 months. My DH did cut alittle about a month or so ago since it was getting too long.

Ryan was 7 months old and we definitely could have done it sooner. He was born with a full head of hair.

My Ds #1 was about 14 months and long overdue. He looked like Art Garfunkel when I finally broke down and cut it. My Ds #2 is 18 months now and has had hair that has been slower coming in. He could use a trim in the back at this stage. If he needs one at 8 1/2 months, it's not unheard of. Some babies have tons of hair, your DS sounds like one of them. The first haircut makes them look so much older for some reason.

Right after he turned 1 (two days later). I just trimmed the hair in the front and a really long piece in the back.
I still think that I should NOT have cut it.

DS got a haircut this past weekend - he looks like such a little boy!! I wasn't ready for it at all! But his hair was getting too long in the front and he really needed it.

I wouldn't cut it. IMO once you cut it they no longer look like babies and look more like little boys. I cut my sons hair when he turned a year. He had such beautiful shiny hair with little curls. Once I cut it he sitll looked adorable but it was like the whole texture changed. It was more course and not as shiny.

Noah is made of hair pretty much, I trimmed his hair a lot before October (thats about 21 months) but I have since taken him for 2 haircuts. We go for the Surfer look. So its still pretty long.

Shortly after his first birthday...he needed it bad! But I wanted to wait until he turned 1.
He is now ready for his 2nd!

DS#1 was 2yrs old and DS#2 is now 15mos and he has not had a haircut yet! One of my friendss had given her DS 2 haircuts before his first bday.
