Where can i find great chinese food?
Hi everyone and Happy Holidays
My husband and I are looking for great takeout in suffolk county(smithtown-saint james areas) or close.we have had no luck yet.Thanks

yeah, I've been asking chinese co-workers that question for years....
My conclusion is chinatown, nyc... nothing east of there, unless there's a mini-chinatown somewhere in queens. definitely nothing impressive that is local to us.
I think the problem is that most chinese families cook their own food... so restaurants cater to non-chinese tastes.

Actually long river in west islip is pretty good but nothing around here can ever compare to china town.Oh well my quest continues.

I would have to say Long River is the best around! We travel from Holbrook to get our food from them11

Ohh we like them too but they dont make my favorite dish....spareribs in black bean sauce!!

You wont be dissapointed! when we first moved into our apartment over there, that was our mission....to find the best chinese and pizza....never did find REALLY good pizza though...had to travel for it even though everyone said that Little Vincent's was the best, I didnt think so which made us eat a lot more chinese food with Chan's right around the corner.

Thats fuuny what you said about Little Vincents. My husband and I heard that it was supposed to be the best pizza around. But we also did not like it.
But we will certainly check out Chans. I am suprised we never heard of it since we used to live just off Terry road. Oh well it's never too late Thanks for the recomendations everyone

I loved that place....until I found a piece of hair in the bottom of my chicken and string beans...I refused to let DH get food from there.

I must be in the minority, I don't like Chan's at all except for the cream cheese wontons. I think Dah Lee on the corner of Church and Ronkonkoma, Ave is better.
To the OP Lotus East in St. James is very good
