Awh. It goes by sooooo fast and it will be so worth it in the end. Just do it in the fall and get it over with. Then at least you can start subbing in January even if it is only a day or two a week just to get your name out there. A teacher's schedule is the best one to have as a mommy. It won't be too bad

Re: need encouragement
I agree with mikeswife, go for it !!
it will really be over before you know it, the baby wont remember being away from you, and think of the long term, the career you will have, while being around for your children !
you can do it !

Re: need encouragement
I just finished student teaching. It went so quickly. It feels so great to be done, and I absolutely loved being in the classroom. Plus who knows what connections you will make along the way? It will be so worth it.

Re: need encouragement
DON't QUIT NOW! you will really regret in the future. just because the job market is tight, doesn't mean there isn't anything out there. there are always jobs in the city, leave replacement and subbing jobs (where no LI district will hire you unless you have your degree and certifiication) and YES... people do get hired on LI, even though it can be a tough market.
I know it will be hard being away from your baby, but it will be much harder to go back and finish later on... also, it's always better to finish quickly, because the state can always change their requirements, etc. so get it done now while most of the work is done.
GOOD LUCK!
