I just applied for my 18 month old DS, and we expidited it. We received the passport 1 1/2 weeks later! That's record time for us!

I just mailed mine out this week. I will not be going abroad until summer so I didn't have it expedited. I can let you know when I get it back.

I just did a name change, where I had to send in my old passport. I sent it in on Thursday 12/20 and just got it on Friday, 12/28!! I paid for the expedited service, but still thought it would take at least 3 weeks.

They are coming fast now but rumor has it that in Jan they are going to get backed up again. I hope it's not true. I still have to get DS one.

I mailed mine out for renewel and a name change and it only took about a month.
that was last summer when the were very backed up on getting them out.

UPDATE: I got mine already in the mail today!
I just sent mine out on 12/28 for a name change and paid for expedited. I'm hoping it comes in Feb... since I need it for March!
