AF after stopping BCP?
I was on BCP for at least 10 years. Was pretty much regular before going on it. I took my last BCP Dec 1. IT was the last pill in the pack. my next period would have been the week of Dec. 24. I have not gotten it yet. I did take a HPT and it was negative. I am not charting or anything. Just waiting for AF to arrive or get a BFP. AT what point do i call the Dr. to find out why i haven't gotten it yet? TIA

Since you are 2 weeks late, I would call them & see but most likely they will tell you to wait it out another week since it is your first cycle off BCP.

Re: AF after stopping BCP?
I am no help. When I stopped BCP to have DC #1, my last pill was July 1, I got AF July 4. I got PG the next month.
I too had been on BCP for years prior.
I'd say (if you have the patience) wait 1-2 more weeks. OR Call your Dr's office, speak with a nurse (or Physician Asst) and ask if they feel you should come in.

Re: AF after stopping BCP?
IMO, I would wait a little while longer before calling your Dr. It can take much longer to get AF your first month off BCP. It took me 48 days and I know some girls on here have had it take even longer. Your body is just adjusting to things.

I agree. My first cycle off BCP was about 36 days. The 28 day cycle imposed by BCP has no bearing on the actual length of your body's natural cycle. Your doctor will most likely tell you to wait it out.
Good luck!

Re: AF after stopping BCP?
Like you I was on BCP's for around 10 years. I went off in early Aug. I didn't get AF for 42 days. The cycle after that was also 42 days. It has taken 5 months to finally get back to a 28 cycle.
I've seen lots of ladies on here have similar experiences so it's pretty normal.
I would take HPT's once a week until AF comes. If you don't get AF by cycle day 56 (two 28 day cycles) I would see the doctor. He/she can give you something to stimulate ovulation and in turn AF.
I'm no doctor by any means but just saying what I would do.
Good luck

I was just at the Dr's last night & was informed that they will not bring on AF until 9 weeks after your last menstrual cycle.
