Lesson on verb tenses
I am being observed and want to do a lesson on verb tenses....ed, s , ing. It will be in 2nd grade. Any ideas?

How about interactive tenses? Give some students large cards with the letter endings on it and have other students be base words. They can mix and match to make as many word endings as they can think of. It can be part of your anticipatory set or the main lesson. Just needs some more thought and you can tailor it to your class.

I would do an activity w/ cards also. Have each student write large index cards w/ all the endings & say words & have them hold up the proper card.
First I'd probably list the actions in order: past present future (on the board) call the kids up to do
Then mention past, present future to the kids (action happening now, going to happen, etc.)
Sorry, its early, but I know I did something like this when I taught tenses w/ my 2nd years ago
