Re: Argentina/Chili?
My sister just went there for her honeymoon in late Nov. through December.
These are the places they visited and where they stayed:
*Santiago, Chile - Ritz Carlton *Mendoza, Chile - Park Hyatt *Buenos Aires, Argentina - Alvear Palace Hotel *Punta Del Este, Uruguay - Mantra Resort & Spa *Buenos Aires, Argentina - Four Seasons
I'll ask her for detailed feedback on her trip.

Re: Argentina/Chili?
Go to Igausu Falls if you go to Argetina! That is the only place I have been in Argentina
The rainforests are beautiful we saw tucson's flying around...so pretty
The hotel we stayed in was alright -not the best, I can get the name for you but I think it was actually in Brazil and we drove to the Falls on the Argentinian side

Re: Argentina/Chili?
I would love all details and all info. We are looking for a relaxing and warm vacation but would be up for some site seeing.
Can we do some beachy stuff, resorty stuff, spa stuff and then go see the sites if we want?
Should we go for 10 days?
How long is the flight?
TIA!!!

Re: Argentina/Chili?
I've been to Chile - on business though. Santiago, Arica and Vina del Mar. I would love to go back so I say go for it! The distances are huge however - just keep that in mind.

Re: Argentina/Chili?
I went last February. We did Buenos Aires, which was very beautiful. Clean, safe, gorgeous, I loved it.
We then went to Iguazu Falls, like the PP said, if you go down there, you have to go here, its unbelievably gorgeous, puts Niagra to shame.
Then we went to Rio for Carnival, which was a blast, though I don't think I'd go if its not Carnival.
FM me if you want details/pictures.

Re: Argentina/Chili?
BA is a long flight but there's no (or just a one-hour) time difference, so you don't really need time to recuperate. I have a friend in BA who takes the overnight flight and is able to come back and forth for long weekends.
If I ever get down to visit here, Patagonia is high on my priority list to visit.
