Question for the Vegas Lovers

So in June the wife and I are going to Vegas. Last time in Vegas I stayed at NY-NY and the room was pretty small. I am going out this time for 6 Days/5 nights. I am frugal(read-cheap) when it comes to hotels because in a place like Vegas you shouldn't be spending much time in a room. I currently have Excalibur booked. We want to do the tournament of kings and the cirque show in NY-NY so that is good location but for everything else it's pretty crappy location wise. I was thinking of switching up the hotels but don't want to spend 1300 dollars for a place ot stay. I have priced out a few others that aren't that much more than Excalibur. I also must mention that I want to be on the strip and Stratosphere is too far. I have priced out Harras and Imperial Palace. But I read recent reviews on both of them and they appear to be sh*tholes. Where else would people recommend to stay in Vegas on the cheap but still on the strip?

Have you looked into the planet hollywood hotel it is across from the belligio. Not sure how the rooms are thought but the casino floor looked nice and they were renovating.

Re: Question for the Vegas Lovers

We stayed at the Paris hotel and it was a central location- directly in front of Bellagio-We liked it a lot and it was not terribly expensive- When we go back again we would stay at the Venetian- but that will be more money

Re: Question for the Vegas Lovers

I stay at Harrah's and I like it there...plus the loyal customer card is a LIFE SAVER!!! I get my rooms for $39-49 a night...It's not the Bellagio, but it's good for the night and the buffet is good also. It's central in location also. Good Luck!

Re: Question for the Vegas Lovers

I have only been to Vegas once. We stayed at the Mirage. It was a nice hotel and not too expensive at all. It is located towards one end of the strip. If I remember correctly it is in between Caesar's and Treasure Island.

Re: Question for the Vegas Lovers

I've stayed at MGM and it seems like they often run specials for room rates. Harrah's is a great location, and I've heard it isn't too bad. I'd do it for location alone if you want to save money.

I stayed at Harrahs about 5-6 years ago. It was fine -- nothing fancy, but clean and in a good location.

Re: Question for the Vegas Lovers

I second the Monte Carlo!
Sometimes the deals youo get from them are only $10 or so more than the Excalibur would charge.

I have never problem had a problem there. Sometimes the crowd is a little older. BUT usually we are in and out right away. Once in a while have a quick breakfast there.

Re: Question for the Vegas Lovers

I got a good deal at the Monte Carlo. It has a great pool and is centrally located on the strip, which I think is important because it saves $$ on cab fair.
