is it worth it to keep a service contract on a heater??
WE have gas heat and central air. We currently have a service contract. They come twice a year to check the system. This time they wanted to change a part - $305 dollars - I told then no since the system is currently working fine
They don't have sat. hours so 'I allways need to take off from work when they come

The point of having a service contract is that they only charge for parts and basically the labor is payed for from your service contract.
It is also important if you ever have a heat emergency they will come out at odd hours, and i'm sure on the weekend. Regular annual clean-ups are usually done during normal business hours.
If you are not happy with the current comp you have a contract with then by all means switch but it is prob a good idea to have a contract with somebody...
