I was told by the company that installed our gas boiler that you do NOT need a service contract. There are no part to be serviced on a gas boiler like an oil one.

We don't have a service contract. It used to be included with the gas service, but there was a lawsuit (of course... Chat Icon ), so the gas company had to stop doing that, and allow other service companies to take care of the stuff.

We haven't needed any work on our gas burner in years. I just oil a few parts once in a while, and that's it.

Take the covers off of your baseboards or radiators and vacuum......

Service Complete.

Question for those that said no to the service contract. Our inspection actually said that we should get a plan to service and clean the system to ensure efficient operation. Is this just a line that inspectors?

Also our gas boiler is getting old, only a few years left, so we are concerned about its safety coming into our first winter. Should we call someone just to have it looked at before the season starts?
