Anyone use the "fancy" workout settings on elliptical/stairmasters?
I've always been a "manual" girl myself, but want to really change up my workouts.
I know each machine is different, but I'm intrigued with "random", "interval", "fat burning", etc. modes. Do you find you get a good workout from them?
I always thought that me controlling it based on my exertion was the best way to go, but now Im realizing maybe I don't vary it up enough through my 40 minutes of cardio.
Any insights appreciated!

I try to mix it up a bit by using the different settings. I like pretty much all of the settings. Some are tough but give you a great workout, especially the interval ones.

i like the fat burning setting on the elliptical because it goes up and down and breaks up the workout into small segments - makes the time go faster and plus you get a good workout!

I always use the fat burn setting on the elliptical and treadmill praying that is what it is doing.
