We have a contract!!!

Our new contract was passed this morning...and the old one isn't even over until the end of the school year. So we don't have to worry about all of those negotiations and possibly going without one. What a relief!

When I was driving to work yesterday, I passed a school that is clearly without one because people were standing outside with sandwich boards in the freezing cold. I felt so bad for them.

It took a while to get our last one passed...we were out in front with the signs, and had to go a year without one....so they started early this time, and apparently, it went well! Such a relief!

We have been without a contract since Sept, and not even negotiating yet because of a dispute between the union and the administration. Negotiations should begin in March and I hope they get resolved quickly. I hope even more that I get a nice retro check sometime in the summer!
