Question for a REA
or anyone who knows about the real estate code of ethics. I responded to an ad on Craigslist for a home for sale. There was an agency listed and phone number. Their response leads me to believe the house does not exist and they want me to come in and talk to them about "my needs". Can they do this (generate business by falsely advertising homes for sale)?

Re: Question for a REA
IMO The REA do and say what ever it takes to make them money. Craigslist when they find out take them off but it might take awhile and depending on how many people take the time to report the listing.

I was going to report it after I got their reply, but it was already gone.

Re: Question for a REA
Sounds to me but what you are describing is a bait and switch thing. I can not be sure that is what happened but that is what it sounds like. I think it is imoral. There is a huge real estate broker population on Long Island not every one out there is bad there are some that actually do the right thing by the clients and some that do not.
