why is buying my 1st home so..
FRUSTRATING?????????? I have been through everything from losing my money with a short sale on the engineer report (long story) and then bidding and not getting it bc other people said no engineer report on another to a house that they wanted more than posted .. to this house with contracts and attorneys speaking finding out it is a foreclosure and they want to pin everything on us.. so now we will have to pull out and now the search will have to start all over again.
I HATE USING agents they stink they screwed me (long story) ugh
I have had such a horrible experience. will My DH and I ever find our first home??

Re: why is buying my 1st home so..
We went though a lot with a broker who almost ripped us off for $5K. Thank goodness for our lawyer. Almost everyone I know has had an issue of some kind during the home buying process. Hang in there, it will come to you.

Re: why is buying my 1st home so..
The first house we were going to buy, the seller's decided they wanted more money after we got the engineer in there.
Good luck with that, because no one is going to give them what they are asking.
We are getting ready to close, and the title search showed that the garage had no COO. Seller didn't know this apparently, because the garage was on the original plans.
The seller hired an expediter, and the attorneys are working on letting us put some of the money that will go to the seller in escrow so we don't get screwed. They are telling us that hopefully we can close by 3/15.
I am glad we can go to my in-laws if need be when our lease expires on 4/30.

I understand and I'm sorry to hear your situation.
We're starting all over again too. It is so frustrating and you do all the work for months just to have to do it God knows how many more times before it works out and we find our home.
Good luck

I agree with batm16 Buying your first home should be exciting... and oh my goodness I'm certainly not trying to screw anyone. If anything I'm trying to make the experience more personal, smoother, less stressful so the buyers can enjoy what is suppose to be a happy time in their life. I was once a 1st time buyer too and have not forgotten.

Re: why is buying my 1st home so..
We had some trouble too when buying our house in July'07, but in the end the lawyers made sure everything happened the right way. We had no idea until the title search was done that the sellers were in bankruptcy already to avoid foreclosure. So then their lawyer had to get them out of bankruptcy and then we had to close quickly so the bank didn't put them into foreclosure. completely crazy. Also they didn't have any of the CO's for the house, so that had to be done too. It took about 3 months for us to close. GL and don't give up.

It can be really difficult and frustrating. But your home is out there... it took us over a year and we finally found a home we really love. We've had issues with the realtor but in the end, our lawyer has been looking out for us.
