unexperienced cook with a question...
I am clueless when it comes to cooking! If i want to make brown rice with vegetables mixed in it.. Do i make the rice and vegetables seperate and then mix it together, or do i make them in one pot together? I was going to use frozen peas and carrots. TIA

Honestly I always cook them separately. Although Im sure you could throw them in one pot...I dont see why not. Although brown rice can be tricky with the ratio of water to rice etc.. you might want to add a bit more water to make up for any amount that the veggies may absorb.

Also, a great easy mix in for white rice is red kidney beans and cilantro!
