Does your gym have a scale?
I know that seems like a silly question but I just joined a gym and they don't have one. I asked and was told they have no plans to get one. They said people should exercise for health reasons and that a scale only encourages low self esteem.
Is this crazy talk? I can feel my pants are loser but I still want to know how much weight I am down.
Do you like knowing your weight or do you just go by how you feel and look?

Our scale has a gym. I don't weigh myself on it because I weigh myself daily at home  I am not obsessed with the number though - some people can be. I don't get upset over fluctuations or gains. It just keeps me honest. When I re-gained all the weight I had lost it was because I took the scale and threw it in the closet because I did not want to deal with what I was doing to myself.

I need to know how much I weigh. I am a little obsessed with weighing myself, but I think I would go crazy if I didn't know, although now I am only doing every other day on the scale.

Yup! I don't think I've ever NOT seen a scale at any gym I've ever belonged to.
I can see what they're saying about people depending on a number on the scale instead of how they feel physically, but they shouldn't force their opinions on their members......

My gym has the scales in the locker rooms. I never use it though. Actually, I don't weigh myself any time other than at WW.

I need to weigh myself in my birthday suit first thing in the morning so that would not work at a gym. I get so mad when they weigh me at the doctors office after lunch wearing all my clothes. That's not what I weighed in the morning!

My gym has a scale but it is ALWAYS inaccurate and I do not have the patience to sit there and balance it out every time I want to weigh myself.
We actually have a scale in our bathroom, but I think it is somewhat erratic. Yesterday it said I was four pounds heavier than I am today. My weight fluctuates throughout the day but not that much.
I miss my old gym which had this amazing digital scale which always read very accurately. Synergy - I miss you!
ETA: I like to know how much I weigh. I usually try to do it only once a week at the same time of day.
